- Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Women’s rights movement by analyzing the Declaration of Sentiments and make inferences using the graphic organizer it says, I say, and so.
- Students will be able to understand the struggles that women went through during the suffrage movement by complete the daily movie guide.
- Students will create a character sketch of one significant American woman from WWI and will demonstrate knowledge of women’s contributions to the WWI effort.
- Students will demonstrate understanding of the significance of the birth control movement to the women’s rights movement by completing a quick write that synthesizes two documents.
English Objectives:
- Students will read With Courage and Cloth: Winning the Fight for a Woman’s Right to Vote by Ann Bausum and actively engage in ten online discussion forums.
- Students will analyze song lyrics written about the women’s suffrage movement to determine meaning and mood behind the words.
- Students will be able to effectively gather information from texts and other class materials to support a point of view regarding Women’s Suffrage. They will be able to deliver the information in a convincing manner within a classroom debate format. Then students will execute and explain their sentiments regarding their debate side’s point-of-view in a clear, persuasively written opinion piece.
