Women's Rights Perspective Collective Piece Through The Arts
Time: 10-15 Minutes (Anticipatory Sets to Art History)
8-10 Class periods for art piece
Objective:
Students will be able to connect their background knowledge in the Women's Rights Movement through vocabulary to develop their own secondary piece of art involving perspectives from the time period.

Materials to create the collective piece of art
Description of the Activity:
The students will be given a specific "Histigory" that focuses on a specific event, person, or perspective within the Women's Rights Movement. The students will develop their background knowledge and vocabulary gained from ELA and Social Studies experiences to further their perspective on the life of women from specific events and perspectives in women's history. They will then be given opportunities to develop their perspective through creating of their own unique painted/sculpted art piece. The students will present their piece and display it with a title and short explanation that matches their perspective from the women's rights movement.
Assessment of student learning:
"Histigory" responses will be collected.
Students will also be graded based on their art perspective, accurate accounts within their painted/sculpted piece and explanation of their perspective in relation to the topic.
